Your Personal Pentacle

Room 8 of 13 · Level II · Adept · 6 min

In the Key, a pentacle is a circle drawn with signs, made on its day and hour. Here you design yours with a steadiness sigil in the centre.

What you practise

The Key's rules for pentacles (I.8) and a Spare-style sigil.

The four steps, in text
  1. 1. Put each material in its box. Unused paper → Support · Compass or glass to trace → Circle · Gold, red and blue markers → Colour · Wednesday → Timing
  2. 2. Light Wednesday's first seven hours, in order. Hour 1 · ☿ Mercury → Hour 2 · ☽ Moon → Hour 3 · ♄ Saturn → Hour 4 · ♃ Jupiter → Hour 5 · ♂ Mars → Hour 6 · ☉ Sun → Hour 7 · ♀ Venus
  3. 3. Trace your steadiness sigil. Example sigil in Spare's style: write the phrase, cross out repeated letters and condense the rest into a single monogram. Yours will look different. Phrase: "I AM STEADY". Here: an open S, a vertical bar crossing it and a diagonal.
  4. 4. Choose the moon for your pentacle. New moon, Waxing crescent, First quarter, Waxing gibbous, Full moon, Waning gibbous, Last quarter, Waning crescent

Safety

  • Your intention is about you. Nothing to harm, control or bind another person.
  • This is a reflective practice: don't use it to make decisions about health, money or legal matters.

🕯️ Candle out · complete a mission to light it

The streak candle is only an on-screen element. If a room suggests a real candle, follow its safety rules.

Fun fact

The SATOR square already appears at Pompeii before AD 62, in its ROTAS form.
