The Hour of the Planets
Room 5 of 13 · Level II · Adept · 6 min
Each weekday has a planet, and so does each hour. Here you put them in order and choose Thursday's first hour for a gratitude ritual.
What you practise
Planetary hours (Chaldean order) and a gratitude ritual in Jupiter's hour.
The four steps, in text
- 1. Put each planet on its day. ☉ Sun → Sunday · ☽ Moon → Monday · ♂ Mars → Tuesday · ☿ Mercury → Wednesday · ♃ Jupiter → Thursday · ♀ Venus → Friday · ♄ Saturn → Saturday
- 2. Light Thursday's first seven hours, in order. Hour 1 · ♃ Jupiter → Hour 2 · ♂ Mars → Hour 3 · ☉ Sun → Hour 4 · ♀ Venus → Hour 5 · ☿ Mercury → Hour 6 · ☽ Moon → Hour 7 · ♄ Saturn
- 3. Trace Jupiter's symbol. The ♃ symbol: a curved stroke that descends diagonally and ends in a horizontal base, and a vertical bar crossing it.
- 4. Choose the moon for your gratitude ritual. New moon, Waxing crescent, First quarter, Waxing gibbous, Full moon, Waning gibbous, Last quarter, Waning crescent
Safety
- Real candle: never leave it alone; put it on a ceramic or metal plate, away from curtains, paper, children and pets. Snuff it out before leaving the room. An LED candle works just as well.
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding or allergies: avoid essential oils and herbs on the skin or in smoke, and check with a health professional first.
- Your intention is about you. Nothing to harm, control or bind another person.
- This is a reflective practice: don't use it to make decisions about health, money or legal matters.
🕯️ Candle out · complete a mission to light it
The streak candle is only an on-screen element. If a room suggests a real candle, follow its safety rules.
Fun fact
