The Self
Dreaming of a ring: meaning and interpretation
The circle of what you promise
Commitment, bond and loyalty to something or someone, including loyalty to yourself.
Symbolic reading
A ring in a dream speaks of a commitment: to a partner, a project, a way of life, or yourself. Losing it often comes when that bond feels fragile or when you are unsure about what you promised; if it breaks or feels too tight, the agreement no longer fits the way it did. If someone gave you one, something new is asking for your loyalty. It is not an omen about your relationship.
Jungian key
A ring is a circle, and for Jung the circle, like the mandala, is one of the images of the Self: the wholeness that joins what was apart. That is why it appears when a union is at stake, with another person or between two parts of you.
Before you look for the ring, ask which promise is still yours.
